Going Live...

I am ready to lead on Day One.

ree

I have just finished wrapping a couple of videos for my new Social(ly Distant) Media Presence, and I wanted to both announce my candidacy for the Shelby Township Board of Trustees, as well as discuss the interesting times we find ourselves in and why I am uniquely suited to Lead on Day One.

ABOUT ME:

First, I want to introduce myself. My name is Lucia DiCicco. I am a Shelby Township resident of over 20 years, and I am proud to call Shelby home. I am an attorney, and I built my law practice in Shelby Township over 10 years ago. My husband Rob is also an attorney, and is an Officer in the US Army JAG Corps. My daughter Gaia is just two years old, but she has become quite fond of her home in Shelby as she begins to explore the world around her.

I have served on Shelby Township's Planning Commission since 2013, and have witnessed firsthand the type of thoughtful development that we need to promote and encourage from developers. I have seen whole areas of Shelby flourish seemingly overnight, thanks to a new development or redevelopment that adds value to our community.

READY TO LEAD ON DAY ONE:

We are now faced with in an interesting dilemma during the "age of COVID-19." Our future is certain: we will get through this as a community, state, nation, and world. However, our path is very uncertain: will our economy come back? Will the record unemployment reverse? And how will Shelby work to help our friends and neighbors through this time?

“During this time of reinventing the new normal, we need to focus on our families, our businesses, and our community. We need to focus on getting Shelby back to work.”

Finding these answers won't be easy, but I am up to the task. I have built a successful business. I have led boards with disparate interests towards common goals. And I have the knowledge, skill, and experience to lead during this time.

With this new normal, I also find myself in an interesting new space in politics, where door-knocking seems dangerous, and campaign events over 10 people isn't necessarily smart. Rest assured, I will be working closely with health and safety experts to ensure that my Campaign puts no one at risk. Votes are important, but not at the expense of others. In the meantime, I'll be ramping up online social media engagement, and hope to rally Voters in the new digital age.

Finally, I want to thank you, as a friend and neighbor, for helping to make our community the place to live, work, and play in Macomb County. I am running for Shelby Township Trustee because I have faith in the future of Shelby Township, and that faith resides in the people that live here.

Thank you for your Support.
